Case Studies

Two Companies Made the Switch. Here's Exactly What Happened.

Real results from real deployments.

No composites, no anonymized "a leading company in their industry." These are the two clients we can name, with the people who ran the project, the numbers behind the deployment, and their own words about what changed.

AWS Connect instance

What Changed

  • One AWS Connect instance replacing a patchwork of systems across five service centers
  • Integrated with Salesforce using the AWS Second Generation Connector from the Salesforce AppExchange
  • A callback option for callers waiting on hold, switchable on a schedule by the queue supervisor
  • Agent-to-agent calling without requiring an active call, with live teammate status on a custom dashboard
  • After-hours text notification to on-call staff, built on Lambda, DynamoDB, Pinpoint, and SNS
  • Real-time and historical reporting on every queue, browser-based, no extra hardware

“DrVoIP and team are very knowledgeable on AWS and specifically in our case the Connect product. DrVoIP was able to build out a brand new call flow for our main business and several other phone systems brought in through acquisition. The team met with us, gained understanding of our needs, and implemented a solution exceeding expectations. The cost savings of moving to AWS Connect has been huge and we look forward to a continued relationship with DrVoIP and taking advantage of new features in Connect!”

What Changed

  • One AWS Connect instance replacing the ShoreTel Workgroup application
  • Deployed alongside a broader company-wide move to Microsoft Skype for Business
  • A warm port migration: temporary numbers live on AWS Connect during design, testing, and go live
  • Existing numbers forwarded once proven, with the old ShoreTel system kept on as a fallback until it was not needed

“We determined to leave our ShoreTel deployment behind and migrate to a cloud solution that includes Microsoft Skype for Business, but we still needed a call center to replace our ShoreTel Workgroup application and we felt AWS Connect could do the job.”

Jason AgcaoiliManager, ASMR

“DrVoIP has taken a very hands on approach to implementing our needs as we work to develop a replacement helpdesk solution. Our Helpdesk staff is very particular in their demands and DrVoIP has shown great flexibility in producing or adapting solutions to meet these. Additionally they provide regular status updates are always available to hop on a conference call to hash out any issues. Additionally I feel their knowledge of both the AWS product as well as our previous product (ShoreTel) has been a great asset in easing the transition, as they already know how our current solution works and what we will want from AWS in regards to mimicking certain features.”

Harsha PattnaikGlobal Technology Director, Cloud, Data Center, Security and Network Engineering

“From watching his YouTube videos, we engaged Peter on numerous contact center projects, including migrating a portion of our Cisco UCCX contact center into AWS.”

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Real. Both are named companies with named people who signed off on the quotes attributed to them: Sean Kennedy at FMG Suites, and Jason Agcaoili and Brian Cox at ASMR. Nothing on this page is a composite or an anonymized "leading company in their industry."

DrVoIP is a small, hands-on team, not a firm that runs hundreds of deployments a year. We would rather publish two real, named, detailed accounts than pad this page with vague success stories we cannot back up. The "More From Real Clients" section further down has a few more voices who preferred a short quote over a full published account.

Both migrations used the same warm port method: temporary numbers go live on the new system while the old one keeps running, and nothing switches over until it is proven. That is the same process described on our Migration page, not something unique to these two clients.

The deployment itself is five business days for the fixed-fee Quickstart foundation. What we would actually write up depends on what you integrate and what results you see afterward, which is a longer conversation than the deployment itself.

Book a strategy call. We will look at what you are running today, whether a warm port migration applies, and what a realistic timeline looks like, the same starting point FMG Suites and ASMR had.
